SELEUCIS and PIERIA, Emesa. Diadumenian. As Caesar, AD 217-218. AR Tetradrachm (26mm, 11.84 g, 12h). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Eagle standing facing, head and tail left, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; between legs, radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Shamash left; crescent turned to left beneath eagle’s head. Prieur 1019 (same dies as illustration). Spots of green deposits on obverse, traces of underlying luster. Good VF. Very rare, only seven noted by Prieur, and two in CoinArchives.
