KINGS of BOSPORUS. Eupator, with Marcus Aurelius and Antoninus Pius. AD 154/5-circa 172/3. EL Stater (19mm, 7.69 g, 11h). Dated year 462 of the Bosporan Era (AD 165/6). Diademed and draped bust of Eupator right / Laureate and draped bust of Aurelius right vis-à-vis laureate head of Verus left; spear between; BΞY (date) below. Frolova p. 164, 2 (this coin); Anokhin 1736 (this coin illustrated); MacDonald 472/1 (this coin illustrated). In NGC encapsulation 4285580-001, graded Ch VF, Strike: 5/5, Surface: 4/5, edge marks. Extremely rare, one of two known with spear symbol (the other is Gorny & Mosch 261, lot 467 = Rauch 94, lot 273).
