MEDIEVAL COUNTERS. 1280-1345/55. Æ Reckoning Counter – Jeton (22.5mm, 1.64 g). Pictorial obverse type, contemporary with Sterling bust type. Struck circa 1280-1343. Facing bust, wearing mitre; voided trilobes flanking; all within border of large pellets / Cross moline with central pellet; pellets in quarters; all within border of large pellets. Cf. Berry Type 1, 10 (for obv.); cf. Mitchiner, Jetons I 213-41 (for rev.). Green patina with traces of earthen deposits in devices; some flan prerparation marks, attempted piercing in center. Good VF. Very rare.
