PLANTAGENET. Edward III. 1327-1377. AV Quarter Noble (18mm, 1.81 g, 2h). Fourth coinage, Treaty Series B, Group a. Tower (London) mint. Struck 1361. Coat-of-arms within tressure of eight arcs; trefoil at end of each arc / Cross fleurée et fleurdelisée; in each quarter, lion passant left over trefoil; at center, lis within quadrilobe; all within tressure of eight arcs. North 1243; SCBC 1510. Toned, deposits in devices, slightly wavy flan. . Lot includes old paper stating that the coin was found originally at Cromwell’s Mount, Drogheda, Ireland.
