CILICIA, Anazarbus. Marcus Aurelius & Lucius Verus. AD 161-169. Æ (25mm, 12.44 g, 6h). Dated CY 182 (AD 163/4). Aurelius, holding volumen, and Verus standing vis-à-vis, clasping right hands / Decastyle temple; [star in pediment]. Zeigler 192-196 var. (Vs2/Rs–); SNG Levante 1392; SNG BN 2031. Attractive green patina with some light earthen highlights/deposits, scuff on reverse. Good VF.
Ex Classical Numismatic Group Electronic Auction 234 (9 June 2010), lot 156.
This may be a new reverse die as there does not appear to be a star in the pediment, but the reverse is slightly double struck so it is possible that the striking problem has obliterated the star.
