Pescennius Niger. AD 193-194. AR Denarius (17.5mm, 2.63 g, 12h). Antioch mint. IMP CAES PESC NIGER IVST AVG, laureate head right / IVSTI TIA AVG, Justitia standing facing, head left, holding scales and cornucopia. RIC IV 45c var. (obv. legend); RSC 43a var. (same); BMCRE –. Attractively toned, residual find patina, a couple light scratches on reverse. Good VF. Very rare. A striking portrait.
