While they undoubtedly circulated in England, Series G sceattas are found in a widely diffuse pattern, with minor concentrations in Sussex and Yorkshire, which suggests that they may in fact be continental imports. Metcalf, in his catalog of the Ashmolean museum, notes a small concentration of the type in Northern France, and suggests that they were struck at the major Channel center of Quentovic.
