KINGS of PARTHIA. Orodes II. 57-38 BC. AR Tetradrachm (14.72 gm). Seleukeia mint. Diademed bust left with short beard / King enthroned left, raising up kneeling Tyche;
PO in right field. Sellwood 45.1; cf. Shore 209. Toned good VF. Excellent style. ($400)
Shore notes the tetradrachms of Orodes show a continuing decline in artistic quality, but this coin proves the Parthians still had at least one engraver of merit working at Seleukeia.
