Bust of Zeus-Mithras right, wearing Phrygian cap / Athena standing left, holding shield and spear; monogram before. Bopearachchi Série 15A; SNG ANS 1252 var. (monogram); MIG 397a. VF, dark brown patina. Overstruck on a coin of Epander (probably Bopearachchi Série 2). ($100)
The undertypes are not clear, but enough of the peripheral legends remain- BASILEWS NIKHF[OROU EPANDROU] and Maharajasa jaya[dharasa Epandrasa] -to identify the coin as an issue of Amyntas' contemporary, Epander.
