PHRYGIA, Cotiaeum. Caracalla. 198-217 AD. Æ 33mm (17.50 gm). M. Aurelius Menel[aus, the younger?], archiereus for the second time. Laureate head right, seen from behind / Herakles standing facing, head left, holding eagle and club; lion's skin at its base. Cf. BMC Lycia, Pamphylia, and Pisidia pg. 169, 53 (Kybele); SNG von Aulock -; SNG Copenhagen -; Mionnet -. VF, brown patina with traces of green. An apparently unique and unpublished type.
