ASIA MINOR. Circa 1st Century BC-AD. Base silver Tessera (22mm, 4.63 gm). Head facing, with long flowing hair / Nude warrior with long hair standing right, holding spear; nonsense Greek legend in three columns. The facing head is derived from the Arethusa head of Syracuse via the Cilician facsimiles. The reverse type has no clear parallel. Fine, rough surfaces. Unusual and worthy of further research.
