LOKRIS, Lokris Opuntia. Circa 380-338 BC. AR Stater (11.41 gm). Wreathed head of Persephone left wearing triple pendant earring / OPONTI-WN, Ajax advancing right, nude but for crested helmet, brandishing sword and shield decorated with a serpent; Macedonian helmet between legs, broken spear on ground. BMC Central Greece -; SNG Copenhagen -; Boston MFA 956 (same dies). Good VF, struck with worn obverse die. Wonderful reverse style. ($2000)
