IONIA. Uncertain. Circa 650-600 BC. EL Fourrée Third Stater (3.49 gm). Samian-Euboeic standard. Blank / Circular incuse with geometric whirl pattern. VF, with ancient test cuts exposing the silver core. Unpublished. ($250)

This fourrée is a contemporary imitation of this group, albeit of a denomination whose original is not yet known. The punch of this piece is slightly larger and cruder than the punches used for the stater and hemistaters above.
