Head of Helios, framed by flowing hair, facing, slightly right / [R]OD-ION, large rose with bud to left; small F and ivy leaf right; all within incuse. Cf. Bérend 68 (D50/R- unlisted reverse die); SNG Helsinki -; BMC Caria -; SNG Copenhagen -; SNG von Aulock -; Boston MFA 2040-2041. Lightly toned EF, well centered and in high relief, svery minor roughness on chin which does not in any way detract form the overall beauty of the coin. The die-engraver's masterwork, and a beautiful example of Classical Greek art. ($7500)
