AEL VER-INA AVG, Pearl-diademed and draped bust right / SALVS REI-PVBLICAE, Victory seated right, holding shield inscribed with chi-rho on cippus; CONE. RIC X 656; LRBC 2253. Choice, good VF, red-brown and dark green patina. Very rare in such an exceptional state. ($1000)

Although the mintmark is that of the Constantinople, this issue is almost exclusively found in the Crimea, and was probably struck specifically for use in the important Black Sea port of Cherson.
