Canterbury mint; Ethelmod, moneyer. \ : m\ :+:O:F.FA• \REX\ in two lunettes / ÷[+]÷ :+:ED:EEL \M:D\ in three lines divided by dotted lines. Blunt 95; SCBI 20 (Mack), 570; BMC -; North 322; SCBC 908. Toned, good VF, slight flan crack. Rare Offa penny, with an impressive pedigree linking it to the finest English collections of the past two centuries. ($2000)
