COLLECTION of ANCIENT COINS. Lot of one hundred ninety ancient coins in AR and Æ, from an early collection. A wide ranging general collection of coins from Spain to India, with Greek, Roman Provincial, Roman Republic, Imperial, Byzantine and Islamic periods represented. What is fascinating about the collection is that many come with original tickets or envelopes from the 1920's. Many were purchased from the famous coin dealer Thomas L. Elder. // Lot also includes a small group of about 20 forgeries, among them several original Beckers // Plus a small bag of artifacts, including a Roman gold earring. Average Fair to Fine.
