ATTICA, Athens. Circa 168/5-50 BC. AR New Style Tetradrachm (30mm, 16.86 gm). Struck circa 132/1 BC. Helmeted head of Athena right / Owl standing right on amphora; winged caduceus to left, G on amphora, ME below, magistrates POLUCARM, NIKOG, FILODR, all within wreath. Thompson dies 378a corr.; Svoronos, Athenes pl. 49, 25. Near EF, choice.

This specimen confirms that the correct reading of the third magistrate's name is Philodr..., not Philodo..., as Thompson has it. CNG has handled only two other specimens of this type; one that was in a comparable state of preservation sold for $770 in CNG 28 (8 December 1998), lot 140.
