CELTIC, Britain. Cantiaci. Dubnovellaunos. Circa 25-10 BC. AV Stater (5.40 gm). Serpent Type. Plain obverse with shallow banding / Spritely horse galloping right with beaded mane, bucranium, two pellets and ringed-pellet above, serpent below, pellet triad in front, [DVBNOVELL]AVNO[S] around. Hobbs 2492-96; Van Arsdell 169; SCBC 177. CCI 96.3435. Good VF, neat flan of pale rose-gold with satin-like surfaces, sharp horse. Rare. ($1250)
