Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin headdress / Youth on horseback left, raising hand and holding palm forward; monogram below. Cf. Le Rider pl. 1, 1 (tetradrachm); cf. SNG ANS 338 (hemidrachm). VF, light reverse scrape. An unpublished variety of a rare denomination for Philip II. ($200)

According to LeRider, this monogram denotes the first issue of Philip's coinage minted at Pella (issue IA). No drachms from this issue are known to exist.
