LOKRIS, Lokri Opuntia. Circa 380-338 BC. AR Stater (12.18 gm). Wreathed head of Persephone left wearing triple pendant earring / Ajax advancing right, nude but for crested helmet, brandishing sword and shield decorated with a palmette and griffin; broken spear on ground, eight pointed star before. BMC Central Greece -; SNG Copenhagen -; Gulbenkian 491 (same reverse die). Attractively toned, good VF, reverse slightly double struck. Choice flan. ($5000)
