PHILISTO-ARABIAN, Uncertain Mint. Circa 4th century BC. AR Obol (0.59 gm). Imitating Athens. Helmeted head of Athena right; Aramaic letter "H" on cheek / Owl standing right. SNG ANS -; Mildenberg -; BMC Arabia -; Hendin -. Good VF. ($150)

Other Athenian imitations from North Arabia use Arabian letters as marks of denomination; this coin is closer in style to the Gazan imitations, and the letter is clearly Aramaic. Thus, the letter is most likely a mintmark of an uncertain city near Gaza.
