SASANIAN KINGS of PERSIA. Ardashir I. 224-241 AD. AR Hemidrachm (2.11 gm). Mint B ("Ekbatana"). Crowned and cuirassed bust right, no earflap, fravahr symbol (wreath) on shoulder / Fire altar with no attendants. Cf. Alram, Beginning, fig. 22 (drachm); Göbl III/2/2; Alram 674. Darkly toned VF, slight wave in flan. Unpublished variety with symbol on shoulder. ($200)
