KINGS of PARTHIA. Vardanes I. 40-45 AD. Billon Tetradrachm (28mm, 14.30 gm). Seleukeia on the Tigris mint. Dated Seleukid Era Panemou 355 (June, 44 AD). Diademed bust left, short pointed beard, wart on forehead / Gotarzes seated right on throne, Tyche standing left before him, presenting a palm and holding cornucopiae; year above, month in exergue. Vonones reigned for only a few short months. Little is known of this king, but he probably was from the same Arsakid family as Vologases I and Vardanes II.
