SASANIAN KINGS of PERSIA. Ardashir I. 224-241 AD. AR Hemidrachm (20mm, 1.63 gm). Mint B ("Ekbatana"). Crowned and cuirassed bust right; pellet behind head / Fire altar with no attendants; pellet on central column. Cf. Alram, Beginning, fig. 22 (drachm); Göbl III/2/2; Alram 674. Near VF, darkly toned, light porosity, edge chipped. Good style. Rare.
