SICILY, Syracuse. Time of Dionysios I. 405-367 BC. AR Hemilitron (10mm, 0.35 gm). Struck circa 405-395 BC. Head of Arethusa right, hair bound in ampyx and sphendone / Four-spoked wheel, two dolphins in lower quarters. SNG ANS 303 var. (head left); MMAG List 605 (December 2000), no. 36 (same dies). Toned, good Fine. Scarce.
The style of Arethusa on this coin is similar to that of Kimon's hemidrachm (cf. Basel 434).
