CELTIC, Britain. Cantiaci. Circa 45-35 BC. Potin 14mm (1.02 gm). Outline of head right; prominent central pellet / Lines representing bull standing right; crescent above, prominent central pellet. Hobbs 719; Van Arsdell 139-1; SCBC 64. Good VF, dark brown patina, casting sprue on edge. ($200)
Found in Hertfordshire.It has been suggested that the twin central pellets and the single straight line of the obverse make this coin useful as a "spinner" for divination or gambling purposes.
