SICILY, Syracuse. Agathokles. 317-289 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.95 gm). Struck circa 305-295 BC. Wreathed head of Kore right, wearing single-pendant earring and necklace / Nike standing right, erecting trophy; triskeles to right. Ierardi 135 (O33/R88); SNG ANS 669 (same dies). Good VF, beautifully engraved dies. Very rare issue with the ethnic on the obverse. Only two specimens (McClean 2834 and Jameson 865) recorded by Ierardi from this die pairing. ($1250)
