Diademed head right / Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow and bow set on ground; palm to outer left, AB monogram to inner left, IA in exergue. From the Garth R. Drewry Collection. Ex Classical Numismatic Group 46 (24 June 1998), lot 483.

This is the first issue from Ake-Ptolemais after the issues of Alexander the Great. The mint appears to have remained in operation thereafter, except for the reign of Antiochos VII, until at least 106 BC, the date of its last recorded Seleukid coin. The Seleukid era at Ake-Ptolemais ended in 104/3 BC when the city was captured by Alexander Jannaeus.
