From the Tony Hardy Collection.T. Quinctius Crispinus Sulpicianus, whom the poet-historian Velleius Paterculus described as "concealing a singular immorality with a stern brow," was a member of one of the obscure noble families which Augustus revived into prominence. In 9 BC he became
consul ordinarius along with Nero Claudius Drusus. Implicated by Augustus to the Senate in 2 BC as one of Julia's numerous lovers, he was punished with banishment.
