From the Tony Hardy Collection.T. Asinius Gallus was the son of the distinguished orator and historian, C. Asinius Pollio. In 8 BC he became
consul ordinarius and in 6-5 BC was proconsul of Asia. Tacitus claimed he earned the enmity of Tiberius by marrying the emperor's ex-wife, Vipsania. Implicated by Sejanus in 30 AD as Agrippina Senior's lover, he was arrested and died of starvation after three years in custody.
