HADRIAN. 117-138 AD. Æ Sestertius (27.61 gm). Struck circa 134-138 AD. Bare-headed and draped bust right / EXERCITVS, MAVRETANICVS in exergue, Hadrian right on horseback, extending hand to four soldiers, the first of whom holds legionary aquila; the next two holding military standards; the third, a vexillum. Cf. RIC II 925; BMCRE 1681 note; Cohen 576. VF, brown and olive patina, minor smoothing, minor spots of encrustation. Rare. ($3000)
