TRAJAN. 98-117 AD. Æ Sestertius (24.19 gm). Struck circa 104-107 AD. Laureate bust right, slight drapery on left shoulder / Trajan standing left on low daïs, prefect standing behind, addressing four citizens extending their hands; Genius of the Circus reclining right, holding meta set on base at the end of the circus spina. RIC II 553 var. (no drapery); BMCRE 828; Cohen 523 var. (aegis). Fine, black-green patina, light pitting. Very rare. ($400)
