ROMAN ERA. Roman. Bronze Knife Handle with Boar. Circa 3rd-4th century AD. Length 70mm. Bronze handle for a small knife, the terminal with three dimensional depiction of the forepart of a boar. Hollow haft, with a pin hole for attachment. Probably from a legionary soldier's field kit, with the boar as a symbol of his legion. Choice condition, dark green patina. ($300)
