BYZANTINE. Gold Finger Ring with Gemstone. Circa 6th-8th century AD. Inner diameter 17mm, total weight 2.04 gm. A very delicate twisted gold wire ring, with pierced pale blue gemstone, probably a sapphire. Endcaps decorated with gold beads and wire filigree. Gemstone with a few chips, otherwise in exceptional condition for this fragile item. ($300)
