GREEK or ROMAN ERA. Greece to Asia Minor. Bronze Plaque. Circa 1st century BC-1st century AD. Height 28mm. A uniface bronze plaque, stamped with a design of an ornate arched shrine, within which is a standing figure of Artemis holding her bow while drawing an arrow from her quiver, a tree behind her and a running stag and hound at her feet. Very fine workmanship, crisply executed. Possibly a test punch for a die intended for making an amulet or punched decoration on a fine utensil. Smooth dark green patina, choice condition. ($300)
