Nude youth on horseback right, placing wreath on horse's head; KLH above, SHRAM-BOS below / TA-RAS, Phalanthos astride dolphin left, holding trident in right hand, aphlaston in left; monogram behind. Hannibal used the region around Tarentum and Metapontion as winter quarters during his occupation of southern Italy. He installed his own magistrates and struck coinage based on the Punic half shekel standard.
