Head of Athena right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves over visor and a spiral palmette on the bowl / AQE, owl standing right, head facing; olive sprig and crescent behind; all within shallow incuse square. While the characteristics of the tail feathers and spiral palmette place this example after 449 BC, the fine proportional style of the owl and the head of Athena suggest a very early post-transitional issue.
