ISLANDS off CARIA, Rhodos, Kamiros. Circa 480-475 BC. AR Stater (11.81 gm, 3h). Fig leaf / KAM[I]-REW[N], legend in two lines divided by horizontal bar. SNG Helsinki -; Traité pl. XX, 8 = BMC Caria pg. 224, 12 (same reverse die); SNG Copenhagen -; SNG von Aulock -; SNG Lockett 2935 = Pozzi 2671 (this coin); Boston MFA 2033 var. (ethnic). Good VF, attractively toned, choice flan. Very rare, only five specimens known of which two are in museums. ($5000)
