MEDIEVAL. SASANIAN KINGS. Shahpur II. 309-379 AD. AV Dinar (7.19 gm, 3h). Uncertain western mint. Degraded Pahlavi legend, crowned bust right / Degraded Pahlavi legend, fire altar with attendants and ribbon,
fravahr (wreath) and taurus symbols flanking flames. MK -; cf. Göbl Ia/1 and Ia/2; Paruck -; De Morgan -; Alram -; MACW -. VF, slight bend at edge, minor die shift on reverse. ($2000)
The reverse has the attendants as Göbl reverse type 2, but the configuration of the field symbols is as his type 1. The overall style, particularly that of the altar and attendants, supports attribution to the Persis (Stakhr) mint (cf. MK 1264 and 1267).
