DIVO/AVGVSTO/S P Q R in left field, statue of Augustus seated left on throne, holding laurel branch in right hand and sceptre in left hand, set on ornate car drawn by four elephants; each elephant has its own mahout / TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVST P M TR POT XXXVII, large S C across field. RIC I 62 (Tiberius); MIR 2, 52-4; BMCRE 108 (Tiberius); BN 90 (Tiberius); Cohen 307 (Augustus). VF, mottled dark green and red patina, minor pitting and minor smoothing in fields. Rare. ($1500)
