IMP CAESAR TRAIAN HA-DRIANVS AVG, laureate and cuirassed bust right, slight drapery on left shoulder; thunderbolt on shoulder strap and gorgoneion on breastplate / P M TR P COS III, S C across field, Ceres, veiled, standing left, holding grain ears in outstretched right hand and long torch in left hand. RIC II -; Strack 573h var. (no gorgoneion); Banti 590 var. (same); BMCRE 1245 var. (same); Cohen -. EF, mottled gray-green patina over black-green with traces of light brown. Exceptional example of an apparently unpublished variety. ($1500)
