The Martyrdom of St. Stephan- a crowd stoning the nimbate saint kneeling in their midst, radiate sun above, SCS ST E HPAN in arcs around the sun and the saint; small cross to right. Bonhoff 459; Löbbecke 21; Reichmann 643. Good VF, lightly toned. A powerful depiction of Christian martyrdom. ($2500)
