KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III. 336-323 BC. AV Stater (8.56 gm, 11h). Abydos mint. Struck under Antigonos I Monophthalmos, circa 303/2 BC. Helmeted head of Athena right / Nike standing left; monogram in left field, griffin's head below left wing; caduceus in right field. Cf. Price 1558 (same obv. die); cf. ADM II 372 (same obv. die). EF, obverse struck a little softly, lustrous. Unpublished with monogram and caduceus. ($1500)
