Amyntas saw service as an auxiliary commander in the Roman army of Brutus and Cassius. He gained the favor of Mark Antony and was granted the Kingdom of Galatia, but deserted Antony before Actium, aligning himself with Octavian. He died in battle in 25 BC and his kingdom was annexed as a Roman province.
