TIBERIUS II CONSTANTINE. 578-582 AD. AV Light-Weight Solidus of 22 Siliquae (4.10 gm, 6h). Constantinople mint. Crowned facing bust, holding globus cruciger and shield / Cross potent on four steps;
QS/OB+*. DOC I 38 (Antioch); MIB II 5; SB 446 (Antioch). Good VF. ($400)
There is no evidence for the earlier speculative attribution of the light-weight solidi of Tiberius and Maurice to Antioch or another branch mint, as they have all the characteristics of regular Constantinople issues.
