HH Raj Rajeshwar Maharajadhiraj Shri Hanwant Singh succeded his father as Maharaja of Jodhpur in June 1947, just a few months before the independence of India brought an end to the political authority of the Indian princes. His coins are the last of Jodhpur, and some of the last hand-struck coinage of the 20th century.
