ROMAN. Silver finger ring. Circa 2nd-3rd century AD. Inner diameter 20mm. Plain silver ring with flat inset gemstone, a bloodstone (green jasper with flecks of red). Intaglio engraving of helmeted Roma seated on cuirass, holding Victory, parazonium and spear. Sketchy but vigorous quality of good late Roman engraving. Cf. Maaskant-Kleibrink,
