[Antiquities] BYZANTINE. Single gold earring. Circa 10th-13th century AD. Length 50mm, weight 17.06 gm. Hoop earring with hollow ball terminals flanking a central large hollow ovoid bead decorated with eight projecting pyramids. Overall ornate ornaments of pellets and wire. Some damage, one ball crushed, one pyramid broken off, a few missing ornamental details. Still a nice, rather gaudy piece of ancient jewelry. ($300)
