KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great'. 336-323 BC. AR Drachm (4.21 g, 11h). Kolophon mint. Struck circa 322-319 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; ivy leaf below throne, spear-head to outer right. Price 1764 corr. (ivy leaf below throne). EF. ($200)
This coin confirms the sequence of issues, Price 1763 followed by Price 1764, as it is evident that the ivy leaf was originally in the left field, then erased from the die and re-engraved below the throne.
